The International Summer School “Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, and Biomedicine”

The International Summer School “Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Biomedicine” is a long-standing international educational initiative hosted annually by the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Biotechnology of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University since 2005. Over two decades, the Summer School has become a recognized platform for high-quality scientific education and academic exchange in the life sciences.
The School brings together undergraduate and graduate students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers from Ukraine and abroad to engage with leading scientists from Europe, the United States, and other regions. The program covers key areas of modern research, including molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedicine, genomics, bioinformatics, microbiology, immunology, and translational medicine.
The Summer School combines a comprehensive lecture course with laboratory training modules and a scientific conference for young researchers. Since 2020, it has been delivered online, ensuring open and free access regardless of geographical constraints. Beyond education, the Summer School plays an important role in supporting young scientists during challenging times, strengthening international scientific ties, and building a resilient research community.
